look for a dead ibook on ebay and use it as parts! (I try not to reccommend ebay because they suck) but this would be the best place to find a cheap used/dead ibook.

This is like changing the engine in a car, it takes forever and is the most complicated repair that you can do, because ~everything~ has to come out and go back together. That's why, if you get a professional to do it, it's not cheap. Personally, I'd recommend getting a refurbished unit, to replace it - perhaps with a PowerBook (since the iBooks are notorious for logic-board failures). Check here to see what we have in stock:
